Description:

This scenery redoes the Piarco airport which I previously released on the Island of Trinidad. It Features the beautiful new terminal in it's corrected position, and with some architectural updates, plus the proper gate layout, with easier access to all gates. There are also a few cosmetic updates like tree textures, gate numbers, and ramp and parking lights. The old terminal across the runway, which has been converted to cargo operations has been left as is, with the loader macro being deleted due to it's bright lights. This airport is the homebase to British West Indies Airlines, (BWIA). There are no static aircraft in this version, but an afcad and A1 traffic will be along shortly.

Installation:

1. Extract the zip into the FS2002 ADD ON SCENERY folder.

2. Start up FS2002, and go to the WORLD tab, then down to SCENERY LIBRARY. Click on SCENERY LIBRARY, then ADD AREA. Find the ADD ON SCENERY folder and open it, then find the Trinidad folder within and click on it. The name Trinidad should then show up in the title window, then click on the OK tab at the bottom, and the scenery will start to install. When it ends you will have your new airport.

3. It is suggested that you exit FS and restart before using a new scenery, so everything sets in properly. Enjoy Piarco!

Notes:

If you have my first scenery of Piarco, or any previous version please make sure you delete it through the scenery library, if you would no longer like it in your FS. This scenery has no adjustment switches on the scenery complexity slider, and will show to the maximum on a Normal setting, but for those of you under the illusion that your scenery will be better if the slider is maxed out, be my guest. The texture file also contains two r.8 files which can be copied and moved to your FS2002 texture folder, and either replace the ones that are there by overwriting them, or remove them, and back them up in case you do not like the new ones. They are asphalt r.8, and concrete r.8. They will give your concrete, and asphalt surfaces a much better appearance. I'm not sure if these will include the runway skid marks, but you can download the textures at Flightsim or Avsim. They are by Gerrit Kranenberg, and the zip name is runtaxtu.zip.

Special Thanks:

This scenery is dedicated to the SkyGodess, (Cassy) who worked with me every step of the way to insure everything was just right. She is a Flight Attendant, who has three family members who work at this airport, and without her help, or original encouragement, this airport would probably never have been created in such an accurate manner. Thanks Cassy! She can also be seen in the scenery standing out in front of the rotunda structure waiting for her cab.

I'd also like to give a special thanks to Mervyn Gaiff. Without the valuable information he sent me in the way of charts, gate layouts, and runway and taxiway layouts, I would not have been able to bring out such an accurate update of this scenery. I've even included the extension of the taxiway to the end of the runway which is currently under construction.

Other Cotributors:

Thanks to John de Langristin, for all of his scenery macros, which make life for scenery designers a whole lot easier. In this scenery I have used John's car parks, and cars in the pick up, drop off area. I have also used some of John's great tree textures to create several trees throughout the scenery.

Gerd J. Winterfeld, once again for his coconut palm collection, which fit like a glove in my scenery add ons.

Thanks to Tom Burnett, for his airport service vehicles, which I have used for the first time in this scenery.

Thanks to Shehryar Ansari, who is one of the best scenery designers out there, and has shared his great finger gate jetways with the rest of us.

Thanks Jorge Pagano, for the illuminated palms used at the front of the airport. These are fantastic, and rapidly becoming addictive to use in scenery design.

Thanks Chritian Friedrich for the accurate CF bus macro used in front of the airport.

Thanks to the Airport program used in part to create this scenery, the basic layout.

Thanks to Rafael Garcia Sanchez, and his wonderful Nova program which was used to create all of the complex structures in this scenery, and still keep frame rates very acceptable to fly in.

Finally thanks to all the freeware scenery designers which have contributed textures to my FS2002 Texture folder, and which I have used bits and pieces of to create this scenery. If you see something you think maybe yours, it probably is. Unfortunately in many cases I have no idea which scenery add ons these textures came from.
